Purple Kennel Project was established in 2016 in response to the urgent need for safe, warm shelter for dogs living in under-resourced township communities. Recognising that kennels are consistently among the most needed items for animal welfare organisations, particularly during colder months, the initiative was created to provide practical, tangible support where it matters most.
Purple Kennel Project's mission is to provide secure, weatherproof kennels to vulnerable dogs ensuring every contribution creates impact and results in real, lasting change.
An annual donation of USD$8,000 has resulted in the distribution of 2,700 kennels across 49 animal shelters since the initiative’s inception six years ago, which in turn has provided safe and comfortable spaces for rescue and street dogs in need.
