Before the Wild Entrust and Xigera initiatives began in Habu, most children had  little opportunity to experience wildlife outside of conflict situations. Through these programs, attitudes are steadily shifting—from fear or dislike  of wildlife to a growing sense of connection, respect and protection for the natural environment.

To sustain this positive change, the Village Kids Program works alongside Wild Entrust’s Coaching Conservation initiative, introducing children to the wildlife-rich areas behind their school through guided ‘Bush Days’. Led by Xigera Guides, these experiences help children interpret the landscape and encounter wildlife in a safe, positive and educational setting.
