The Grootbos Foundation was set up in 2003 as a non-profit organisation that would work to conserve the critically endangered fynbos, while also focusing on the training and skills development of the surrounding communities.They’re an organisation dedicated to empowering others through ecotourism, enterprise development, sports development and education.
Grosvenor Tours (a subsidiary of Cullinan Holdings) through it's financial contributions, supports programmes, such as School Eco Villages, helping to strengthen conservation outcomes and expand opportunities for local communities.
The Grootbos Foundation has achieved to date, 35 small business beneficiaries, 12240 Sanitary pads distributed, 22202 hectares land protected, 10 rapid survey biolitzes per day, 85 entrepreneurship training beneficiaries, 30000 insect specimens, 947 plant species found on grootbos, 2608 footbal foundation youth beneficiaries
